Inspiring Others

This week I want to share with you how I got into Louise Hay’s work and she inspired me to believe ‘I can do it!!’ She’s an amazing woman and looks great and recently celebrated her 90th birthday. I’m so grateful for finding her work and love sharing it worldwide as I go on my travels. So how did I get into her work? I came across her work when I was living in Abu Dhabi and attended a workshop based on her book, ‘You Can Heal Your Life.’ I was at a low point in my life and blamed everyone else for my unhappiness instead of taking responsibility for my own feelings….it was easier that way !! I also had a very low self-esteem and covered this up well with the partying lifestyle always being the life and soul of the party. I attended the workshop and loved the part that if you loved and approved of yourself exactly as you are then this was reflected back to you in your family and friends. I did some work on this and it seemed like all the people I was blaming changed overnight!! I loved the power of the workshop and decided I wanted to train as a workshop leader to share her philosophy so I booked the course immediately and flew to Johannesburg in South Africa a few months later. The training was amazing ran by the wonderful Ashika Singh (https://passionforyourlife.wordpress.com/) and while I thought it was about learning to run workshops which it was, it was also doing some work on ourselves too which is really important. As the saying goes we can be a master...

Wise Words From A Buddhist Monk

This week is about managing your time effectively, we feel we have so much to do and not enough hours in the day….sound familiar? One of the main things I’ve learnt about becoming a female entrepreneur is making time for myself. It’s taken me a while to realise that it’s about working smarter and not working harder and the ‘ME’ time is so important to give us time to regenerate, reflect and refocus and be more productive. I want to share an interesting conversation I had with a Buddhist Monk during my Louise Hay Coaching training in the UK in 2012. He was a lovely man and worked in the corporate world as a Life Coach for 3 months and spent the remaining 9 months of the year living as a monk in the Himalayas. It seemed the different parts of his life are worlds apart but he shared some words of wisdom with me. We talked about time management and this is what he said to me, ”We can either priorotise our focus or focus our prioroties.” What did he mean by this? He said most people have their to-do list for the day and when they have time they’ll meditate or have breaks and do something for themselves. In reality we know this might not happen as we get caught up in our work not wanting to lose momentum. He suggested making the time to meditate or go for a walk a priority  and plan our work around that instead of the other way round.  His words havestuck in my head and definitely helped me to manage my ‘Me Time’  better. My favourite way to...

My Awakening Experience

Thanks Barbara for the opportunity to be part of the February challenge – Inspiring others by our Awakening Experiences. If someone had asked me about my awakening many years ago I would have thought they were talking about waking up in the morning. My journey on my Spiritual Path has lead me to a greater understanding that it’s waking up to who I really am. Who am I? A friend, wife, sister? We have a lot of labels put on us in life and wear different masks that it’s really easy to feel lost and something’s missing from life . This awakening to me is about being me  and truly loving and approving of who I am. I know for years I suffered from low self esteem and tried hard to get approval from others which becomes very stressful. I was a people pleaser looking after others needs before my own and trying hard to be what others expect me to be.   My awakening started when I was unhappy and used to blame everyone for my unhappiness and never saw any faults in myself and I was trying so hard to change everyone. I then attended a Louise Hay workshop in Abu Dhabi and realised we can’t change people but we can change how we feel from the inside and this will be reflected in our outer experiences. After the workshop it seemed that everyone had changed but in fact it was me that had changed. I loved the power of the workshops that I flew to South Africa shortly afterwards to train as a workshop leader and am now passionate about helping others to uncover...

Affirmation of the week – Mirror Work

This week we’re going to look at mirror work and this is one of the techniques that Louise Hay used so she could get to a point where she really did love and accept herself. Just look in the mirror and tell yourself ‘I love and accept myself exactly as I am’. Mirror work is not about vanity but taking time to look in the mirror and consciously choosing to say kind and loving things to yourself. We often look in the mirror and criticize ourselves for our appearance. It may seem silly to stand in front of the mirror talking to yourself but  the more you do it the easier it becomes. A lot of people find this difficult when they first do it and can even be an emotional experience. Let the feelings come up and if you find it difficult to say then just say’ I am willing to love and accept myself exactly as I am’ and then the Universe will find a way for you to get to this point.     Here are some things you can tell yourself in the mirror I love & accept you You are beautiful I support you I’m proud of you Consistency is also important as it’s difficult to see results in how we think overnight so be patient with yourself. It’s also useful to have a little mirror n your bag so whenever you get a change tell yourself how much you love yourself…try it to see if you se any shifts in your thinking and how you speak to...

Reiki Master/Teacher

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share with you that I completed my Reiki Master/Teacher training over the summer and am so am very excited about sharing it with others. I got nto Reiki in 2012 in a bid to develop an awareness of who I really was. I completed my Reiki Level 1 & 2 with Susan Smith and these levels are all about self-healing and learning some symbols. I then went on to do Reiki Level 3 & 4 with Kathy Mankassarian. I loved completing all the levels but I must say that the Master/Teacher course really consolidated all my learning of the other levels. I ran my first Level 1 course when I was in Abu Dhabi in august and now planning to run a Level 1 course in Spain at the end of November. I knew I would complete the Master/teacher level at some point but hadn’t planned any dates but over the past couple months my inner wisdom was guiding me towards completing the last level and also an increase in people asking me to teach them Reiki. I carry out Reiki healing and run  courses  at the Chill Zone near Coin (www.the-chill-zone.com) but also use different locations along the Costa Del Sol but to be honest if there is a group of people i’m happy to travel anywhere. I started my Reiki journey having weekly treatments and this is a good way to find out what it’s all about and experiencing it for yourself. Get in touch if you would like a Reiki treatment or interested in learning or check out my Meet Up group  ...

Affirmation of the week – Work

This month we’re going to look at work. You may be out of work, hate your job or having problems and are these thoughts familiar? I hate my job I don’t earn enough money My boss and colleagues don’t appreciate what I do I don’t know what I want to do What’s the best way to handle this? Start by blessing your current position with love and realize it’s only a stepping stone on life’s journey. Are people not treating you the way you would like to be treated…start by looking at a pattern in your consciousness that’s attracting that behavior. Remember what we give out is what we get back! Look around and start blessing your workplace and colleagues with love instead of being stuck in negative thinking and criticizing everyone and everything. Start to use the affirmations such as “I have a harmonious relationship with my boss and co-workers” or “Everyone appreciates what I do” If you like your job but don’t feel like you’re getting paid enough then bless your current salary with love. Expressing gratitude is important and enables us to grow and allow for changes to happen. It’s important to do your best on a job and use affirmations that you deserve a salary increase then the Universe will lift you out to the next and better place. If you hate your job and move jobs and stuck in this negative thinking then you will probably feel the same in the next job and so on….change your thinking to attract a job you love working with great people. Your thinking and consciousness puts you...

Affirmation Of The Week – Relationships

This week i’m going to look at relationships and how we can deal with them, whether it is a boss, co-worker, an employee, friend, lover spouse or a child. Relationships are mirrors of ourselves. What we attract always mirrors either qualities we have or beliefs we have about relationships. The things you don’t like about these people are either what you yourself door would not do, or what you believe. Take time to reflect on your primary relationships or a relationship you most want to heal. Often we treat those we love most, the worst. They don’t deserve that from you and you don’t deserve that from them. Consider learning the skills to talk about those things that make your relationship less than what it could be. What’s it worth to you to have truly loving relationships in your life? How would life be different if you felt loving and loved, and truly appreciate others and are appreciated by them? Look for a moment at someone in your life who bothers you. Describe three things about this person that you don’t like, things that you want him or her to change. Now, look deeply inside of you and ask yourself ‘where am I like that, and when do I do the same things? Close your eyes and give yourself the time to do this, then ask yourself if you ARE WILLING TO CHANGE? When you remove these patterns, habits, and beliefs from your thinking and behavior, either the other person will change or he or she will leave your life The only way to change others is to change yourself....

Affirmation of the week – Success

Welcome to my new affirmation of the week series. This week I’m going to look at success and what it means to you. How many times has something not gone as planned as we see it as “failure”?Every experience we have is a lesson to be learnt and if mistakes happen then look at the lesson to be learnt. We’ve all heard the saying “If at first you don’t succeed try try again” There’s no point beating ourselves up and keep trying the old way again. Take a look at what went wrong and try a different way otherwise events will keep happening until you learn to do them correctly. Do you believe you deserve success or maybe you don’t recognize your successes? When we learn something new set little achievable goals and praise yourself as you go along. Tell yourself you can do it instead of feeling inadequate and thinking thought’s you can’t do it. Don’t set your standards at such a high level that it’s unachievable. Maybe you have felt a ‘failure’ in the past but now’s the time to change your thought pattern in your subconscious mind and plant the seeds of “success”. Think of what you would like to achieve in your personal life or work and make a list of achievable goals and visualize how you will feel when you get there…close your eyes and imagine all the excitement you’ll feel to know you achieved what you set out to d as you tell yourself “I can do it” Repeat these affirmations on a daily basis and allow the ideas to fill your consciousness. Don’t...
